Through the entrance at the renovated first floor of J Sweat Plastics, a grand staircase immediately rises above, connecting the spa and clinic, eliciting an illuminated and restorative feeling. This strong aesthetic is spread through the building in every detail, ensuring a graceful yet compelling feel for the entire space. The adaptive reuse of an old office building turned state of the art surgery center establishes a strong foundation for continued reuse in the future. To meet the growing program needs, the renovated building includes 10 exam rooms, 2 consult rooms and 2 procedure rooms with 4 prep and recovery rooms, allowing for an enhanced experience for both patient and doctor. The Arch Nexus team listened intently to understand the client’s vision of the facility. This resulted in a creative expression that reflects the client’s values and unique brand into the architecture of the building, while providing space for future designs and expansion.
